March 21 & 22, 2020

Saturday & Sunday - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

A treasure trove workshop of soldering tips and tricks accumulated over 40 years of a professional Metalsmith's career to help you solder faster, better and neater in most every situation.  This demo-packed workshop begins with a refresher on Heat Zone techniques and applies these principles to tricky soldering situations like soldering bezels to heavily textured or curved surfaces, gold bezels/wire/balls onto sterling, dealing with twisted wire, chains, prongs, hinges, beads, blind seams, bails and so much more with little or no clean up.  Several types of soldering will be shown like sweat, chop, stick and paste soldering and when to use each of them effectively.  Production tips for speed and accuracy will also be demonstrated.  Discussions will include torch and fuel selection, soldering surfaces, safety considerations and so much more.  A can't-miss workshop to take your soldering to the next level.

Students must be proficient in the techniques shown in Heat Zone 1.

Members - $280 at time of registration online

Non-Members - $330 at time of registration online
