3-Day Workshop

Color on Texture

instructed by

Jennifer Wells

August 14 - August 16, 2020

Friday - Sunday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm daily

In this workshop participants use metalsmithing techniques and eutectic soldering that work in collaboration with enameling.  Once the metal work is complete explore using enamels to emphasize the texture.  Layering opaque and transparent enamels, incorporating liquid enamels and P-3 will be demonstrated.  Experiment with grinding away base coats of enamel, pencil drawing, watercolor enamels, china paints and firing alternative materials into enamel surface.  Break the rules in as many ways you can to develop your own visual library.  Work from your sketch book, favorite photographs, or imagination.

A basic understanding of enameling and metalsmithing is helpful.
