Joyce Ryan has a BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Graphic Design from Washington University. Her work has been featured in Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry: Photographs of Beautiful Contemporary Beadwork. Her bead work was inspired by the colors on the feathers of parrots she worked with at a rescue. As they bathed, water droplets would bead up on their feathers and sparkle in the sun like thousands of tiny colored lights. The closest she could get to replicating those colors and textures were with BEADS!
Beading is a great meditation technique as well as a gateway to creating colorful original jewelry. This class will cover materials, tools, techniques and design consideration in a series of project-based classes. Learn how to string a necklace, make a pair of earrings, a bracelet and bezel a cabachon while mastering basic off loom bead weaving stitches. Then dip into Bead Embroidery, Kumihimo and Bead Crochet. No prior experience necessary.

If your payment is accepted, you are registered for the 10 week course. If the session is sold out and you want to be added to the wait list, email info@metalartsguildga.org.
Cancellation / Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your registration, please notify the instructor as soon as possible. A cancellation fee of 20% of the 10 week course will be charged on cancellations received more than 28 days before the start of the first session. Cancellations received less than 28 days but more than 7 days before the first session will receive a 50% refund; cancellations received 7 days or less before the start of the first session will receive no refund. If your seat in the 8 week course can be filled, only the cancellation fee (20%) will apply.
