Summer Pop Up

LIVE ONLINE: Intro to Silhouette Studio Software

with Julie Huggins

4-hr Workshop

Saturday, July 25, 2020

1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Participants will learn the basics of using the Silhouette Studio Software. We will go through the key software features & most used panels and what tools they include, to more efficiently utilize the software. We will also touch on basic designing encompassing the flexi-shape features available. Lastly, we will go through the steps of taking scanned black and white images and turning them into a cut file to use for stenciling/etching.

Silhouette Studio® is the powerhouse behind the Silhouette cutting machines. The software was built to enable users to customize every single element of their designs. The software features a lot of tools to ensure there are no restrictions or restraints on the user’s design experience. The more tools there are, the more a user can completely customize their design.

Time: Workshop will be approximately 3 ½ to 4 hours.

Supplies / Requirements: Computer with latest version of Silhouette Studio Software installed, reliable internet connectivity & a pad or notebook for taking notes. There will be some handouts, but attendees will probably want to take additional notes.  The software can be downloaded for free at the following link: Please check it out before signing up for class.    Students do not need to own or purchase a Silhouette machine.  MAGG has a Silhouette Portrait machine in the studio available for members to use.  A zoom link and class handouts will be emailed out closer to the time of the workshop.

Bio: My name is Julie Huggins. I’m a wife of 28 years and mother of two young men (20 & 26) from Richmond Hill, Georgia (approximately 13 miles south of Savannah). I work full-time in a busy multi-provider allergy office in Savannah, Georgia. I’m an avid crafter, newbie blogger and Silhouette instructor in my part-time life. I’m self-taught and have been using Silhouette products and software almost daily since December of 2012. I became a licensed TJC (Terri Johnson Creates) Silhouette Instructor September 2016. Since then I have hosted numerous workshop/retreats and one on one lessons. I travel the state of Georgia, South Carolina and North Florida teaching Silhouette software/machine use. I also am an instructor and behind the scenes worker bee (since November 2016) at the All Things Silhouette Conference which takes place annually in Peach Tree City, Georgia. My goal is to inspire that inner-crafter/maker within everyone.
