Melt bezels? Burn bottoms? Constantly re-doing solder seams? Worry about tank safety? Then this intensive soldering workshop is for you! Learn how to solder better, faster and neater from the professional that invented the method to help cut years off your learning curve. Day one, beginning through advanced silversmiths start with the anatomy of the flame and apply it to a series of exercises designed to build a lifelong foundation of successful soldering skills. Learn how to control the heat, reduce firescale and prevent "Meniscus Disease" while covering various methods of soldering bezels, jump rings, earring posts and even decorative elements with little or no clean up.
Day two includes a thorough lesson in studio safety covering acetylene tank transportation, securing, testing for leaks and how to install and properly use and adjust the regulator for your peace of mind. Studio safety discussions also includes proper attire, soldering surfaces, ventilation recommendations, and pickling how-to's. Invaluable for those wanting to improve their soldering skills or just need a refresher.
Beginning thru advanced levels students and instructors welcome.
