Class Description:
This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of metalworking leading to a project creating a hollow form ring. Through a combination of technical exercises and creative exploration, students will develop foundational skills in metal fabrication, texturing, soldering,
and riveting.

Essential metalworking techniques: sawing, filing, sanding, texturing, and patina
application.

Measuring and gauges.

Riveting.

Soldering methods.

Annealing and pickling.

Disc Cutter and Dapping block use.

Simple flex shaft use.

Bezel setting.
Projects:
Students will create:

Small technical assignments to build confidence and refine skills

Jewelry utilizing the various techniques taught in the course.

This weekly class meets IN-PERSON at the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to class.
